OSU Buildings Histories in the Special Collections and Archives Research Center

Building History

A color image of the Pride Center.

In fall of 1999 students identified a need for a safe space to support services for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, and asexual members of the OSU community and their allies (LGBTQQIAA). The Pride Center name was chosen in spring of 2004. OSU continues to have a five-star rating and is ranked in the top 20 LGBT-friendly campuses from Campus Pride's LGBT-Friendly Campus Climate Index.
