Building History

A black and white image of the Crop Science Building.

This building was completed in 1981 as the home of OSU’s crop science program, which included work in wheat and hops breeding. Crop and soil science have now merged. It is one of a few buildings on campus not named for an OSU donor, faculty member or administrator. Renowned wheat breeder Warren Kronstad worked in this building for the last two decades of his career.
