Colleges for Oregon's Future was established in the late 1950s as a non-partisan citizen organization to increase public understanding of the needs of higher education in Oregon. The organization remained active through the 1970s. The organization partnered with the Oregon State System of Higher Education to prepare educational and information materials. Former Oregon Governor Charles A. Sprague served as state chairman of Colleges for Oregon's Future in 1964; Ursel Narver was chair in the 1970s.

Archival Materials

The Special Collections and Archives Research Center holds the Colleges for Oregon's Future Collection, which details the group's efforts to pass bond measures for building construction. The collection includes booklets and brochures outlining the need for building construction and related funding, and a series of speaking and presentation materials given between 1960 and 1966.

A search for "Colleges for Oregon's Future" on Oregon Digital yields a couple results, most of them listings for presentations and speeches given by the organization on or near Oregon college campuses.
