An image of the Assay Building, now known as the Hattie Redmond Women and Gender Center.

 

In 1901, the building now known as the Hattie Redmond Women and Gender Center, and which had been previously known as the Station or Chemistry Building, was renamed the Assay Building. Academically, the Assay Building was devoted exclusively to the subjects of assaying and mineralogy.
