Building History

The Farm Utilities building circa 1940

 

The Dairy Barn was constructed in 1909 by architect John Bennes and became the Agricultural Utilities Building in 1938. The building was used by the Agricultural Engineering, Horticulture, and Computer Science departments, as well as by the United States Department of Agriculture. The Agricultural Utilities Building was demolished in 1989 to make way for the Agricultural and Life Sciences Building. Pillars from the original building are still visible in the basement of the new building
