Business resources generally serve up more than one kind of information, but no single source provides everything. Use this page to track down the right library database or internet resource for the specific kind of business information you seek.
Looking for FREE government information for business? Check out the small business search page on USA.gov
Most industry profiles in databases have information on market size. You can also use the Economic Census data for industry and local business statistics (based on NAICS).
It is not always easy to find market size information on niche or emerging industries and markets. When this happens, search Business Source Complete for mentions in articles.
This new annual report contains manufacturing data on the value of product shipments. The data are published on a North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) basis from the Economic Census Industry Series and the Annual Survey of Manufactures. The MITR also includes official U.S. export and import merchandise trade statistics.

Industry (or Trade) associations can be a valuable source of information. While industry-specific data and reports these associations publish may be unavailable due to membership requirements or high fees, often there is free information at their websites that can be useful.
