Go over the group agreements, then discuss the following questions:
- How has it been for you since the last meeting? Did anything from the book stick with you during that time?
- What were your “aha!” moments while reading this chapter?
- What can you do to increase your durability and tenacity as an anti-racist? How can you support others to be more durable?
- What is something you can uniquely contribute to the anti-racist fight?
- What does anti-racist success look like to you personally? What would success look like in the library?
- On page 222, Kendi talks about how the language of anti-racism can be problematic in different ways. What are ways that you can make anti-racist work more accessible to others? Why is this important?
- Read through Kendi’s list of steps to be an anti-racist on page 226. What do you think of these steps? Where do you see yourself in this list?
- Is success ever attainable? How and how not?
Wrap up: Depending on time, you may ask people to put these in chat
- What is a specific action you can take in the next week that is anti-racist?
- What worked today? What didn’t work?
