Finding Fish

FishNet focuses on museum records and is useful for getting a list of local species.  FishBase is international and useful for locating species by various common names and identifying the literature describing those species.

  • FishNet
    • The OSU Fish Collection is in this database. Use "OS" in the Institution Code box to get a listing of those specimans.
  • FishBase
    • Find information on fish species thoughout the world
  • OSU Ichthyology Collection
    • Search for identification, metadata, maps, tissues, and images associated with the more than 200,000 specimans in the Ichthyology Collection.
