Many of our ebooks are only available to users with an ONID account.
Unfortunately, if you do not have an ONID account, you cannot use these books, even if you are in the building.
If you really want to see a copy of the book, ask at the Borrowing & Information Desk for help. They will help you figure out your best options for access.
Be aware that your best options may include purchasing the book or visiting another library.
Anyone who comes into our library is welcome to find and use materials while they're here. With a Community Borrower card, you can check out materials to bring home.
To find print books, try using the advanced search in 1Search.
You can limit the Search Scope to At OSU Libraries only and the Material Type to Print Books.
Once you find the record for an item you would like to go find on the shelf, you will need to identify its location. Under "Get It," you will see location information for any copies we have. In the case below, the book is in Valley Library in Corvallis, and part of the Main Collection. (You may also see Guin Library, which is in Newport, or Cascades in Bend, or locations like Special Collections.) You will also need the call number, which is like the address of the book. It will look like a long series of letters and numbers -- in the case below, it is RA 1242.M9 H36 1994.
The first letter of the call number tells you on which floor the book is located.
