About ScholarsArchive@OSU

ScholarsArchive@OSU (SA@OSU) is created and maintained by the Oregon State University Libraries, and is the official OSU institutional repository.  Uploading your works to SA@OSU has many benefits:

  • Librarians are available to assist you.
  • Meets best practices for long term preservation and access.
  • Discoverable to anyone searching for OSU research.
  • One-stop integration with NIH and Dept. of Energy systems for federal mandates (see side bar).
  • Value-added features like altmetrics.
  • Easy deposit form (auto-populates with article DOI).
  • Short, durable "handle" (URI) directs to open version of the article.
  • Easily apply a Creative Commons license to your work, specifying how you'd like people to use it.

When you upload your work, you're giving OSU a non-exclusive license to distribute your work.  This means you may still put your work on your personal website, or a platform with social features like ResearchGate or Academia.edu.

NIH and Dept. of Energy Depositing Service

pubmed central logoWhen you deposit an article in SA@OSU, you are asked for any grant information.  If you include information for an NIH or Dept. of Energy grant, library staff will check to see if the article is already scheduled or available in PubMed Central or PAGES.  If not, your article will be deposited in both SA@OSU and the appropriate gov't repository.  This helps to ensure that OSU researchers are compliant with grant requirements so they're eligible for future funding.
