The instructions below are from the Google Scholar Setup page, which has answers to other frequently asked questions.
Google Scholar is becoming a ubiquitous tool for academics to discover research and measure impact. You can't deposit your work to Google Scholar. Instead, the search engine is populated from large sources of content like publishers' websites and institutional repositories. Because it automatically pulls in so much external content, Google Scholar often has incorrect or duplicate records, and there is little researchers can do about this. One thing you can do is claim your identity on Google Scholar so that it more accurately displays your work and citation counts.
