War in the Special Collections and Archives Research Center

Ava Helen and Linus Pauling Papers, 1873-2013

Though much of the collection is focused on earlier anti-war efforts, there are a few materials related to the Gulf War as well. See these in the online exhibit Linus Pauling and the International Peace Movement; A Final Cause: The Gulf War.

Memorial Union Records, 1922-2010

Spanning the years 1922 to 2012, these records include: annual reports, correspondence, course materials, digital files, financial records, flyers, handbooks, meeting minutes, photographs, posters, publications, scrapbooks, and sound recordings.

OSU Memorabilia Collection

The OSU Memorabilia Collection includes a single folder documenting the Persian Gulf War: Box 128.26, "Persian Gulf War, 1991," includes newspaper clippings about OSU students in the war.

OSU Publications

A variety of university publications - including those listed below - can support research on a multitude of topics, including World War II.

  • Course Catalogs: Looking at course catalogs for the war years can show the war's effect on the campus.
  • OSU Yearbooks: These can also show how the campus was affected during the war years.
  • The Daily Barometer: The school newspaper has many pieces on OAC students and activities surrounding the war.
  • Annual Reports: These summarize the activities of OAC during each year of the war.
