Navigate to Globus and click on the Log In button in the top right corner. [1]
On the login page, use your existing organization login by finding the Oregon State University in the drop-down list [1]. Then press Continue [2] which will open up a OSU Login page, where you should enter your OSU login credentials, and two factor authentication.
After signing in with your OSU credentials, you will be given the option of linking an existing Globus account . If you do not have another Globus account, select Continue[1].
Complete your account sign up by completing the below form and select Continue [1].
Finally, you will be shown a consent form and you select Allow to complete [1].
To create a GlobusID without an OSU ONID account is very easy! There are a few different ways to create an account in Globus, such as creating an account with Globus, or using a Github, Google, or an ORCiD.
At the bottom click Globus ID to sign in [1]. This will direct you to making a Globus account.
Alternatively, you could create your account using Github, Google, or ORCiD.
After clicking Globus ID to sign in, you’ll be directed to the Create a Globus ID page. Fill out the information accordingly and click Create ID.
After submitting the Globus form, you’ll be taken to a page where you will be prompted to verify your email address. Verifying your email address is critical to moving forward with creating an account in Globus. Click Verify Your E-mail Address [1].
You’ll be taken to the Verify-Email Address page, where you’ll be prompted to enter the verification code sent to your email. Enter your verification code and click Verify.
The verification code will be a long string of numbers, letters, and hyphens.
Upon entering the verification code, and clicking Verify, you’ll be taken to the Welcome page. Click Continue to proceed with the login process [1].
Almost done. On the Complete Your Sign Up For [account]@globusid.org page, click Continue [1].
The Globus Web App page will ask you to agree to it’s terms of service and privacy policy. Click Allow [1].
You will be directed to the Globus web app, and the login process is completed. Enjoy the data.
Your institution isn’t listed as a login option.
You don’t want your personal Google or Microsoft account for work-related data transfers.
You want a neutral, persistent identity not tied to a school or employer.
