I am an advocate for distance education and improving it for those who cannot be campus students because of life's hurdles. I have a master's degree and I'm currently considering applying to a doctorate degree program. Availability ALL TIMES

  • International Agriculturalist: I successfully combined multiple degree programs in spite of institutional pressure against it, leading to winning a prestigious federal grant for critical language study and a fully funded opportunity to study in Dakar, Senegal. There's something to be said for being uniquely qualified! I also strongly believe it's near impossible to be an effective scientist without also being able to communicate across cultures and develop meaningful relationships.   • Grief Navigator: I have been conscientiously navigating the grief experience for the past 3 years after the sudden death of my young adult son. Availability 10am, 11am, 12pm

  • Living between the lines: a perspective on genderqueer living. Ever since I was child I felt that I was neither a boy or a girl. Living a life without those boundaries though is close to impossible. From living in residence halls in college to every day pronoun use to even simple things like using a public restroom, the life of trans or genderqueer person is filled with hilarity and frustration in equal measures.   • Two different worlds: Two college kids serendipitously meet, continue through college together, marry for sixty years, raise a family of twelve children, and then in their seventies both, separately, are thrown off life's trajectory. They met when he was nineteen, she, seventeen; she died at seventy-seven; he lives at eighty-six. Availability 2pm
