Faculty Papers
James R. Baggett Papers, 1948-2000
The James R. Baggett Papers document Baggett's research and development of new vegetable varieties. Baggett earned his Ph.D. from Oregon State College in 1956 and was a faculty member in the Horticulture Department from 1956 until his retirement in 1996. Items from this collection have been digitized and are available in Oregon Digital.
Arthur G.B. Bouquet Collection, circa 1880-1993*
Bouquet graduated from Oregon Agricultural College in 1906 and was a faculty member in the Oregon State College Horticulture Department from 1909 until his retirement in 1950.
Thomas W. Cook Papers, 1970-2009*
The Thomas W. Cook Papers document Cook's teaching, research, and extension activities pertaining to turfgrass in the Oregon State University Horticulture Department. Cook was a faculty member and Extension Turfgrass Specialist from 1977 until his retirement in 2008.
William A. Frazier Papers, 1918-1996*
The William A. Frazier Papers consist of records that document Frazier's career and activities pertaining to horticultural studies and instruction.
Harry B. Lagerstedt Papers, 1937-1981
The Lagerstedt Papers consist of materials generated and collected by alumnus and Horticulture faculty Harry B. Lagerstedt and reflect his communications with colleagues and his research on filbert, walnut and hazelnut trees.
Arthur L. Peck Papers, 1904-1957*
Peck is credited for introducing formal education in landscape architecture to the western United States. He joined the faculty of Oregon Agricultural College as an Instructor in Floriculture and Landscape Gardening in 1908. He was later promoted to Professor, and made Superintendent of Campus and Greenhouses. Within the Department of Horticulture, Peck developed the curricula for Floriculture and Landscape Gardening, and was responsible for much of the site planning and plantings across campus. His collection includes essays pertaining to landscape gardening along Oregon highways, the role of trees in landscape design, and problems in rural and suburban landscaping. Peck's collection of lantern slides of gardens and landscapes in Europe, primarily from just after World War II, is located in the Landscape Architecture Photographs (P 099).
Melvin N. Westwood Papers, 1894-2005*
The Melvin N. Westwood Papers consist of materials generated and collected by Westwood documenting his research on tree fruits (primarily pears, apples, prunes, and peaches), plant phenology and the history of horticulture in Oregon. Westwood was a faculty member in the Oregon State University Horticulture Department and Agricultural Experiment Station from 1960 to 1983.

Horticulture Department Records, 1908-1994*
The Horticulture Department Records document the teaching, research, and extension activities in horticulture at Oregon State University and consist primarily of correspondence, reports, and administrative records. Various horticultural topics are addressed including fruits and nuts; vegetable crops; nurseries and ornamental plants; greenhouses; Christmas trees; and weed control. The Horticulture Department was established in 1909.
Horticulture Department Photographs, 1900-1980*
The Horticulture Department Photographs consist of images taken and assembled by horticulture faculty for teaching and research and depict a variety of horticultural topics as well as the Oregon Agricultural College campus. The Department of Horticulture and Botany was established in 1888; a separate Horticulture Department formed in 1909.

These records were generated and assembled by the Oregon State Horticultural Society and document the origins and development of the organization.

Nursery and Seed Trade Catalogues, 1832-1999
The Nursery and Seed Trade Catalogues Collection consists of more than 2200 flower and seed catalogues produced by nurseries and seed companies in the United States, Great Britain, Europe and Asia from the mid-19th century through the 20th century. A Short History of the Seed & Nursery Catalogue in Europe and The U.S. is an exhibit of selected catalogues from the collection.
Pacific Northwest Seed and Nursery Catalog Collection
The Pacific Northwest Seed and Nursery Catalog Collection consists of catalogs published by nurseries and seed companies, primarily in Oregon and Washington. The catalogs feature vegetable, herb, and flower seeds; fruit trees and vines; and perennial and native plants. The catalogs include a number of varieties (especially of tomatoes) developed by Oregon State University researchers, such as James Baggett. The collection includes extensive runs of catalogs for Nichols Garden Nursery and the Territorial Seed Company. Catalogs are also included from Abundant Life Seeds, Deep Diversity, Earth's Rising Nursery, Fall Creek Farm and Nursery, Forest Farm, Goodwin Creek Gardens, Greengable Farms, Irish Eyes and Garden City Seeds, Jackson and Perkins, Kalmia Farm, Nature's Garden, Northwoods Wholesale Nursery, One Green World, Oregon Exotics Rare Fruit Nursery, Peace Seeds, Raintree Nursery, Russell Graham Purveyor of Plants, Thyme Garden Herb Company, West Coast Seeds, Wild Garden Seed, and Zenner Brothers Seed Company.
