Effective 12/2016: OSU students can download EndNote for free. OSU faculty and staff can download EndNote by purchasing an annual license via an OSU index (or payment by check). Full details about access to EndNote is on the EndNote Information Services Software license page. Contact the IS Service Desk with any questions about purchases and downloads through this program.
Users with OSU-licensed EndNote X7 (or older) can continue using that version with no annual fee.
8/1/2014: The current version of EndNote is no longer available at the OSU Beaver Store.
Beginning with EndNote X7.2x, users can share their EndNote library with collaborators. EndNote X8 users can share with up to 100 collaborators (each with EndNote X7.2x or X8), and EndNote X7.2x users can share with up to 14 collaborators. Each collaborator must also have or set up an EndNote online account.
As of August 1, 2014, the current version of EndNote is no longer available at the OSU Beaver Store.
EndNote X7, the current version of EndNote can be purchased via the College of Science Software & Site Licensing Program. If you are a current EndNote customer via this program, you will be notified whenever new versions are available. If you are new to EndNote, new versions generally become available in late summer.
EndNote and the Track Changes functionality in Word do not always play nicely together. To avoid issues with duplicate in-text references, make sure that the Track Changes option is set to show "Final" (NOT "Final: Show Markup"). Alternately, turn off Track Changes completely.
