Anyone is welcome to use the OSU Libraries. Locations include:
All OSU Libraries have public access computers where you can search our library catalog and access the online databases.
The McDowell Library collection is in-library use only and does not circulate outside the Library.
To borrow items from other OSU Libraries:
The McDowell Library (College of Veterinary Medicine) is unstaffed. You may direct questions to the Dean's Office by phone at (541)-737-2098.
You may also use the Answerland chat service. The online service is staffed by librarians from all over Oregon and is available to all Oregon residents.
Due to licensing restrictions, we can only make the online databases available off-campus to OSU faculty, students and staff. You may use the databases in any of the OSU libraries. PubMed is available for free for everyone.
If you can't come to the OSU Libraries in person, you need to go through your local public library to borrow books and other materials from OSU Libraries . The McDowell Library books do not circulate and are not available for borrowing through your local public library.
Public library staff will be willing and able to help find what you need. Check with them regarding borrowing and interlibrary loan privileges. Some libraries might charge for interlibrary loan services.
Your local public library is a great source for information, resources, and research assistance. Please contact your local public library to find out about borrowing priviledges and other services available to community members.
