• OSU students who need EndNote for academic purposes can download EndNote for free. Use either the Windows or MacOS download instructions on this KnowledgeBase page to get the software. Please note: skip the “License Restrictions” section (with the license request link) and go straight to the “Install Steps” section.
• OSU faculty and staff (and students using EndNote for work purposes) must purchase an annual license. Use the License Request Form at the bottom left of this EndNote software license page.

Users with OSU-licensed EndNote X7 (or older) can continue using that version with no annual fee.

Users with OSU-licensed versions of EndNote X8 can upgrade to new versions within the licensing year for no additional license fee. The OSU EndNote license year is December 7 - December 6 (the following year).
