Library vocabulary can be confusing for both native and non-native English speakers.  Two searchable guides are provided to help reduce this confusion.

This guide provides short definitions for a wide range of terms commonly used by library staff.

Non-native English speakers may also find this translation guide helpful in identifying the English equivalent for a given term in one of six other languages (Chinese, Korean, Japanese, French, Spanish, and Arabic).

Both guides were developed by the Instruction Section of the Association of College and Research Libraries.
