Book Delivery Services |
Where to Return Books |
You can borrow books, videos, government documents and other materials from the OSU Libraries. We send the books to you via FedEx (we cannot ship to a P.O. or A.P.O Box). We also provide a shipping label for you to return the item. It is your responsibility to mail them back to us in a timely fashion. Please keep in mind that you are responsible for the book once it leaves the building. You may wish to use a form of delivery that provides a receipt since you are responsible for the items until the library receives them. Please make sure we have your correct address. If you have moved or changed your name, we need to know.
NOTE: You need to be registered for a current Ecampus course to use this service.

For books that are not available in at OSU or in a Summit library, and for journal articles, you can request an Interlibrary Loan.
When you enter your account information, select the Status field which indicates you are either a Distance Education student or a Remote Faculty or Staff. Items that are not electronic will be mailed to you.
Interlibrary loans may be tentatively renewed online or by phone at (541) 737-4488. Please request renewals 3-5 days before the due date. You will be contacted if the library that owns the material does not allow the renewal.
Find electronic books (ebooks) at OSU Libraries in four easy steps.
Most ebooks can be "borrowed" for 1 or 7 days. In some cases, you can download the ebook and read it for the given loan period. For more information, check out OSU's ebook guide.
WorldCat lists books that are available at other libraries in the United States, and sometimes in other countries. If a book you want is not listed in the OSU Libraries catalog or at a Summit library, you might want to check WorldCat to see if the book is available at a library near you.
Generally, it will be faster to get the book from a local library or you can at least review it while you wait for the OSU copy to arrive.
Go to WorldCat.org. Type in the title of the book or keywords to describe your topic:
Click on the title of the book or item you want. You can also look to see who has other editions of the book by clicking on the View all editions and formats link.
To see if OSU has the item, click on FindIt@OSU. If you want to know if the book is in a library near you, scroll down and enter your zip code.
If there isn't a copy in your area, you can place an Interlibrary Loan request with the OSU Libraries and we'll borrow it for you from another library and mail it to you. You just need to mail it back to us.
Items in 1Search marked "Location: BSN Textbook Lending Program Champinefu Lodge" are not part of the libraries' collections, and we cannot ship them to you. These items are part of the Basic Needs Center's Textbook Lending Program.
Ecampus students can participate in the BNC's Textbook Lending Program if they visit the BNC's Corvallis office in person. The BNC has more information on services and support for off-campus students.
You can learn more about the library and how to use our resources when it's convenient for you! The Ecampus Library Videos are available on a variety of topics about the library, getting materials, improving your search skills, etc.
OSU Libraries also offers online library workshops over Zoom. All OSU students, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend.
