Information about library services for students taking Ecampus courses and instructors teaching Ecampus courses.

It's Your Library, Too!

The OSU Libraries are here to help you with your research. We offer:

  • research assistance;
  • access to online journals and ebooks;
  • document and book delivery services;
  • and so much more.

You can use all these resources, even if you aren't near Corvallis or any of our branch campuses.

This site has a lot of information about what we have and how you can get access. Feel free to look around and get to know the library. If you have questions, don't hesitate to contact us. That's why we're here.

Getting Materials from OSU Libraries

The OSU Libraries are here to help you find the research materials you need to succeed. Even if you don't come to campus, you have access to many resources. One of our most important services for registered Ecampus students is our book and document delivery service.

1. We can mail books and other media in the OSU Libraries collection to your home address via FedEx. If we don't have the material, we'll get it from another library and mail it to you. Please note we cannot send materials to PO or APO boxes. In general, we are able to ship outside of the United States.

  • Delivery time: 5-7 days. Please retain your Fedex tracking number.
  • Loan period: Varies according to your status. Books from Summit libraries (Pacific Northwest regional libraries) check out for 12 weeks with one 6-week renewal.
  • Returns: You are responsible for mailing materials back to us. Please use the enclosed free FedEx shipping label.

2. We can also send journal articles. OSU has access to many full-text journals online. However, if we have a print-only journal, we will e-mail you a scanned copy. Journal articles are yours to keep and do not need to be returned to the library.

  • Delivery time: 1-2 days for 80% of our requests

Using the Library from a Distance

If you are off-campus, you will need to know your ONID username and password.

If you come to campus and want to borrow books, please bring your OSU ID.

My Account : Borrowing and Renewing Books Online

Your library account is where you can:

  • See what you have checked out from OSU Libraries;
  • Renew items you borrowed from the OSU Libraries;
  • See what items you have out from Summit and when they are due;
  • Access your Interlibrary Loan account.

To access your library account, go to the library home page and click on My Account at the top of the screen.

Basic Troubleshooting

If you are having trouble accessing the library resources or services from off-campus, here are a few things to try:

  1. Confirm you're enrolled in the current term. The Library Electronic Services Matrix has more information on who can access library materials.
  2. Make sure your web browser is current.
  3. Clear your cache (Mac / PC).
  4. Try a different browser.

If you are getting any kind of error message, please make a copy or take a screenshot so we can help troubleshoot the problem.
