OSU Libraries and Services during COVID-19

Greetings Beavers! We know the changes on campus have been stressful, and we’re grateful for your patience and understanding as we plan to reopen the Valley Library building. Our primary goals are keeping students, staff and faculty as safe as possible, while continuing to provide access to the resources and study spaces that the OSU community needs to excel.

Building hours - June and July 2021

  • For current information about hours and closures, visit the Libraries' hours page.
  • The Valley Library building is open Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Access to the main floor, no reservations required.
  • The Guin Library building at the Hatfield Marine Science Center remains closed to the public until further notice.

Building Hours - August 2021

  • The Valley Library building will be closed for the month of August to reset for fall term. Java II space (no services) will be available, as will the tents on the library plaza.  Carry out services, printing, and remote support available during this time: Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • The Guin and Cascades libraries will continue summer hours as outlined above.

Reference and Consultations

  • Ask a Librarian 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday - Thursday, and 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Friday.
  • The Special Collections & Archives Research Center staff are available to consult via virtual reference by appointment only on
