OSULP Instructions: Doctor's Degrees Fields

Previous methods to answer this question required calling the Graduate School directly or to manually count the doctorate degrees on the Graduate School website.

The current Graduate School website includes a feature to search for academic programs. If you use this search ( under the advanced search screen one is able to limit to doctorate programs. Completeing a search will provide a list and there is a total number of returned items at the top.

Unfortunately, there is no way to do a historial search with this tool to fill in missing data from unreported years.

Doctor’s Degrees Fields. For the purposes of this report, Doctor’s Degrees fields are defined as the specific discipline specialties enumerated in the U.S. Department of Education’s Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) “Completions” Survey. Any exceptions should be footnoted.
