OSU Libraries and Services during COVID-19

Face Coverings

All students, faculty, staff, and visitors will be required to wear face coverings inside OSU libraries. If you do not have a face covering, you can get one from library workers when you enter the building.

OSU requires faculty, staff, students, and visitors across all OSU locations to use face coverings, which include masks, cloth face coverings, or face shields when in enclosed public and common areas on campus and in outdoor areas where physical distancing is not easily maintained (unless an exception is met).

Read OSU's face covering policy, and become familiar with this supplementary guidance. When using face coverings provided by OSU, please familiarize yourself with the Care and Limited Use instructions (pdf).

Distancing and Reduced Density

OSU's physical distancing policy requires OSU students, faculty, staff, and visitors to maintain a distance of 6 feet between individuals to the greatest extent possible. Members of the university community at all OSU locations are required to configure spaces as needed to provide for maximum physical distancing. For more information, please review OSU's policy and this supplementary guidance.

Space capacity and furniture arrangements in library study spaces have been updated to meet university regulations for the mitigation of COVID-19. Use of Valley Library study spaces in fall 2020 requires a reservation. When the number of library users on a floor reaches 200 (maximum capacity), no more reservations will be available.

Food and Drink

To facilitate compliance with OSU's face covering policy, food is not allowed in the Valley Library at this time. Water bottles and reusable beverage containers are allowed; however, when drinking from these containers, face coverings should be moved aside rather than removed entirely.
