With the situation around COVID-19 and the global response to it changing rapidly, it has provided an environment for misinformation to flourish. Several organizations have been documenting and disproving the different misinformation campaigns and memes. These include:

• Buzzfeed News: Buzzfeed News regularly collects and disproves misinformation campaigns related to large events and COVID-19 is no different. This list is updated regularly.
• Snopes: Internet fact-checking site Snopes has a dedicated section for all things COVID. There are separate pages tracking conspiracy theories, memes/misinformation, viral videos, and government response among others.
• U.S. Food & Drug Administration: The FDA's website has a section dedicated to tracking products that falsely claim to cure or prevent COVID-19.
• Federal Trade Commission: In addition to the rise in misinformation around COVID-19, there have been a growing number of scams related to the pandemic. The FTC has a landing page dedicated to COVID, along with two different pages focusing on the different types of scams (part 1, part 2).
• Federal Emergency Management Agency: FEMA has collected a page of myths about COVID-19.
• PolitiFact: PolitiFact is a non-profit fact-checking organization. Its coronavirus category covers fake cures, conspiracy theories, and other misinformation related to the virus.
• World Health Organization: WHO shares cheerful graphics that address many myths pertaining to COVID-19.

New misinformation is always appearing. One way to help yourself and your community is to practice identifying fake news. No one is immune to propaganda. Be aware of pre-existing biases and look for confirmation from reliable sources.
