Open Education Week is an opportunity for students and faculty members to learn about the impact open education can have on teaching and learning.

Open Textbook Collection at OSU Libraries

Not yet ready to jump into Open Educational Resources?

Why not check out an open textbook for our Open Textbook Collection?  Take it home and compare it to your current textbook.

What is the Open Textbook Collection? It is a collection of open access (free) textbooks that we have printed and made available to help you identify potential free or low-cost textbooks. You can borrow these textbooks, compare them to your current textbook, and make the transition from costly textbooks to free or low-cost alternatives. Some were even written by OSU faculty!

Who can use the collection?

Anyone can use it but only faculty, staff, and GTA’s can check the open textbooks books out of the library.

Where is it located?

On the 2nd (main) floor of the library in the glass case on the left as you enter.

Textbooks

Remember, you don't have to use the whole book. You can pick and choose chapters from several different books and make your own custom version that's free.
