Summit Borrowing

You can borrow books from Summit libraries and have them sent to one of the OSU Libraries.

To search Summit, enter a search and then choose the OSU Libraries + Summit scope from the drop-down menu.

To request an item from Summit, click on Request this Item.

To see which libraries own the item, click on the title of the book.

Then click on the Show Libraries button.

To request the item, click on the Place Summit Request link and choose your Pickup Location. Click on Request.

You will be notified via email when your item has arrived and is available for pick-up.

Interlibrary Loan

You can use interlibrary loan to request items not found in the OSU Libraries collection or in the Summit catalog.

If this is your first time using interlibrary loan at OSU, first register for an account.

Next, make sure you're logged in to MyOregonState with your ONID. Then locate your item's publication information in WorldCat . Make a copy of your item's identifying information like its title, author, publisher, and ISBN.

Click "View access options" and select "InterlLibrary Loan (ILL) Request".

Double-check the item's information. Click "Submit Request".

Interlibrary loan can also be accessed through 1Search. Catalog entries for articles that aren't part of our collection often include a "Request from Interlibrary Loan" link. Sign in with your ONID, click the link, and fill out the subsequent form. Typically, digital items (e.g. book chapters and articles) are available within 13 hours, while physical items reach the OSU library of your choice within 2-7 days.

To check on the status of your interlibrary loan, request an article or book chapter, or request an item that isn't listed in 1Search or WorldCat, go to OSU's Interlibrary Loan page and log in from the "Interlibrary Loan Login/Signup Here" button.
